But perhaps that is only something that can be learned from trial and error. Maybe if you wrote an article on how to know which guys will treat us with respect and honor our individual feelings, whatever they may be, women might be more free to enjoy themselves without worry. Also I have to say, when you mentioned that you would consider calling another woman if you didn’t have sex with the one you were with, I was completely turned off. In fact I have literally had someone do this to me when I refused to hook up, and it made me so grateful that I hadn’t hooked up with the person. It also pretty much ruined the guy’s chances with me. Obviously, your situation was different and it worked out better for you, but I just wanted to give my opinion. The purpose of this essay was never to become proponent for early intimacy; rather to debunk the myths associated with it. I advocate getting “to know a woman as a human being and not just the Guardian at the Gates of the Temple Punani.” I also clearly state “There’s just no rush to jump in bed, it’s going to happen when it’s going to happen,” and I sincerely believe that. I understand and support the need to feel comfortable and there’s no hard fast rule for when this happens for any couple. Dating is a vetting process, and anyone who says they’ve never regretted having slept with someone is a liar. As for the need to employ instincts above the pull of heart (and loins) I’ve both written about it as well as posted a video about how to recognize players. In either case, it is never okay to pressure someone for sex. Realistically the option to find another willing body always exists for both parties; hopefully the decision to engage sexually can be made out of genuine desire and not lack of fear.
